Organized the First Day of India in Temuco, held in September 2019

We organized this event, “First Day of India in Temuco,” with the support of the Embassy of India in Chile, the Regional Development Corporation of La Araucanía, CORFO, the Municipality of Temuco, and Grupo TQS.

The event brought together educational institutions such as Inacap, Universidad de La Frontera, Universidad Autónoma, and Universidad Mayor, as well as political representatives, business leaders, and entrepreneurs, to discuss cultural, educational, and technological matters.

India offers important opportunities as the world’s largest democracy, with a population nearing 1.3 billion people, growing by 15 million people annually and maintaining annual economic growth rates of 7%.

Although Chile currently holds trade agreements with India, our country is deeply interested in strengthening bilateral ties and eventually establishing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the Asian giant.

The event concluded with the signing of a commercial agreement between the Region of La Araucanía and the Government of India.

Participants included:

  • Francisco López – Regional Ministerial Secretary of Economy (Seremi de Economía)
  • Carlos Gutiérrez – Director, Regional Development Corporation of La Araucanía
  • Patricio Esparza – Regional Director, CORFO Araucanía
